Sitting under the Skye bridge with excellent views, this little village holds a lot more than you bargain for.  A small island fishing community, with a couple of pubs, an old castle ruin, and some beautiful nature walks. It also makes a great base for exploring the rest of the island.

 

This tour is an excellent introduction to Skye and is best to do when you first arrive.  You will learn so much about the history and culture, and get to hang out with someone local to the area.

About this  activity:

 -A gentle walk. Perfect to do with toddlers, and those looking for something not too physical.

-It will give you an in-depth  presentation of Kyleakin and the general history of Skye. Taking you on a journey back to the first settlers, the Viking Invasions, blood thirsty battling clans, and the fate of the islanders during the Industrial  Revolution.

-A small climb up to the 15th century ruin of Castle Moil (this is tide dependent)

-Our guides Carole & Alyson have lived in the village for a number of years. Very knowledgeable and great company.
